Step Up for State - Texas State Athletics Project

South End Zone Complex Renovation

STEP UP FOR STATE GOAL: $100,000

In the fall of 2016, the Texas State Athletic Department embarked on a $2 million renovation of the South End Zone Complex with a goal of transforming the "nerve center" of Texas State Football into a facility to recruit the best and most talented student-athletes in the state of Texas and in the nation.

The renovation of the 43,000 sq. ft. End Zone Football Complex that was completed in 2002 for $9,000,000 and has seen limited maintenance since the inception.  With the arrival of new head football coach Everett Withers, the interior design, and the culture, of the South End Zone Complex is undergoing a massive overhaul. To attract, recruit and retain the best and brightest student-athletes in Texas and around the country, these improvements are paramount in our future success of achieving conference championships, bowl game appearances and being one of the best college football teams in the state of Texas.

Funds will be used for the specific needs listed below:
  • Enhance and upgrade the entire graphics package to enhance student-athlete recruitment and welfare of the football program in the End Zone Complex.
  • Replace all flooring in the team meeting rooms, theater room, coaches' offices, hallways, Warren room and other auxiliary areas in the End Zone Complex.
  • Replace all furniture in the team meeting rooms, coaches' offices, reception areas, conference rooms and theater seats in the team meeting room.
  • Replace all lockers in the locker room for the football student-athletes.
