SAN MARCOS, Texas – The final game before final exam week sees the Texas State men's basketball team make a trip to Moody Coliseum for a 4 p.m. tip against Abilene Christian on Saturday.
Heading into the game, the Bobcats sport a 5-4 record while the Wildcats are 6-3 and on a three-game winning streak.

Bill Culhane will have the call on the radio with the game being broadcast on 1300 AM The Zone out of Austin and KTSW 89.9 FM out of San Marcos. Fans can also listen to the game through the iHeartRadio and TuneIn Radio apps on their mobile devices.
Nijal Pearson continues to be the only TXST player to average double-digits in points at 14.7 per game. He has made 40.5 percent of his shots and is tied for the team lead with 18 made three-pointers. The sophomore also paces the team with 6.6 rebounds per game.
Just shy of a double-digit point average is
Immanuel King at 9.6 following his career-high tying 14-point effort against McMurry. He is shooting a team best 70.2 percent from the field. The senior shares the team lead of seven blocks with
Eric Terry.
Tyler Blount is putting up 8.7 ppg. He has made 18 treys and is shooting 43.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Alex Peacock is netting 7.3 ppg. The junior leads the team with 14 steals and an 85.2 free throw percentage. He is second in rebounding (5.8) and assists (2.4).
Pacing the team with 3.8 assists per game is
Marlin Davis. He is fourth in the Sun Belt Conference with a 2.13 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Scouting Abilene Christian
Abilene Christian is coming off a 62-58 win on Wednesday at Air Force. The Wildcats are 3-1 at home this season with wins over Howard Payne, Randall and Schreiner while suffering a loss to Lipscomb on Nov. 20. In the Southland Conference preseason poll, ACU was picked to finish seventh in the 13-team league.
Four players are averaging at least 10 points a contest led by Jalone Friday at 15.3 per game. He has made 50 percent of his shots and paces the team with a 41.2 three-point and 80.0 free throw percentages. The redshirt sophomore has also blocked a team-high 13 shots and is second with 5.6 rpg.
Leading the team with 6.4 rpg and scoring 14.4 ppg is Jaren Lewis. The junior is shooting a team best 62.2 percent from the field and connected on 4-of-9 three-point attempts. He is one of three Wildcats with double-digit steals this season with 13.
Tevin Foster contributes 13.6 ppg and on 51.3 percent shooting. The transfer from Drury has made 12 three-pointers at a 34.3 percent clip. He paces the Wildcats with 32 made free throws and 41 free throw attempts. Fosters ranks second on the squad with 3.2 apg and 17 steals.
Entering with a team-high 5.0 apg and 19 steals is Jaylen Franklin. He has made 42-of-70 (60.0%) shot attempts to net 10.2 ppg.
ACU is scoring 79.8 ppg with a +8.7 scoring margin while shooting 50.3 percent from the field, 33.7 percent on long distance attempts and 72.1 percent at the charity stripe. The Wildcats a grabbing 33.8 rpg and force 16.4 turnovers per game.
All-Time vs. Wildcats
Texas State leads the all-time series 40-17, won the last three meetings and seven of the last eight. The last time the teams met was on Dec. 30, 2003 in Strahan Coliseum with the Bobcats winning 77-70. ACU's last victory was a 60-58 contest on Feb. 19, 1982 in San Marcos. When playing in Abilene, TXST is 12-6 and the last contest took place on Feb. 18, 1984.
