The Red Wolves countered Texas State's mini-run with a 10-2 run to close out the second quarter.

Out of the break, Arkansas State doubled its halftime lead after holding Texas State to just 3-for-13 shooting in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter, however, the Texas State offense bounced back. Despite being outscored 26-21 by Arkansas State, the Bobcats outshot the Red Wolves 63.6 percent to 61.5 percent from the floor. Texas State scored 10 points in the paint compared to eight by Arkansas State in the fourth quarter and Deer finished with 10 points in the final 10 minutes of play.

The difference in the fourth quarter was that Arkansas State made four 3's compared to just one by the Bobcats and one more basket.

The Texas State bench outscored Arkansas State 29-26 in the game with the help of 14 points from Deer and six from Kiani Lurry.
