LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Texas State women's basketball team dropped the second game of the Arkansas road trip Saturday afternoon to Little Rock by a score of 57-45. The Bobcats fall to 12-15 on the year and 7-10 in conference play with three games left in the regular season.

How It Happened:Turnovers plagued Texas State early in the contest, but cold shooting by the Trojans kept the game within reach through the first 10 minutes of play. A jumper by
Raven Burns to open the contest gave Texas State the early 2-0 lead with 9:23 on the clock.

Little Rock answered with a 4-0 run and kept Texas State scoreless for the next five minutes of action. A lay-up by
Taeler Deer with 4:10 left in the first halted the mini Trojan run and tied it up at 4-4.

The first quarter ended with a score of 8-6 in favor of Little Rock. There were 13 combined turnovers in the first 10 minutes of play.

The Trojans made their first real push in the second quarter with a 7-0 run capped by a free throw by Keanna Keys. A lay-up by
Ericka May with 2:12 to play before intermission snapped the Bobcats' two minute scoring drought and cut the Trojan lead down to seven, 22-15.

A 3-pointer by Alexius Dawn, however, put the Trojans up double digits for the first time in the game on the next possession. Texas State went to the locker room down 10 at the intermission.

A Little Rock basket to start the fourth quarter granted the Trojans their largest lead of 16 with 8:55 to play. The Bobcats rallied, however, in the next few minutes by producing a 7-0 run of their own to cut the Trojan lead back down to nine with 3:42 left on the clock after a
Whitney Apari jumper.

Little Rock answered once again with a run to go back up 15 with under a minute to play. As time was winding down, Apari hit her first collegiate 3-pointer to finish the game with seven points for Texas State.

The Bobcats finished the game with 22 turnovers after committing just eight in the second half. Texas State made four 3-pointers at a clip of 33.3 percent.

Who Stood Out:Taeler Deer led the Bobcats for the second straight game with 13 points … Deer finished the game shooting 5-for-10 from the floor while dishing out two assists and pulling down five rebounds …
Raven Burns made two of the four Bobcat 3-pointers and finished with eight points …
De'Jionae Calloway, in just 12 minutes of action, led the Bobcats with six rebounds.

What It Means:Texas State falls to 12-15 on the year and 7-10 in Sun Belt Conference play. The 'Cats currently remain in seventh place, half of a game ahead of Appalachian State in the Sun Belt Conference standings. Texas State has one more road game before returning home for the final two where the Bobcats are 9-3 this season.
