How It Happened: The two squads exchanged baskets throughout the first couple of minutes of the first quarter before UL Lafayette put together an 8-0 run to take a 15-8 lead over Texas State with 4:26 to play.

Kaitlin Walla, her second of three in the first quarter, with 4:03 on the clock sparked a Texas State run that ended with a three by
Kiani Lurry to take a 19-17 lead over the Ragin' Cajuns after one quarter.

Both teams struggled to score in the second quarter and UL Lafayette closed the two point deficit to make it tied, 24-24 at the half.

Through the first five minutes of the third quarter, the team's continued to exchange baskets. Tied at 31-31 with 6:25 to play in the third, Texas State went through a scoring drought that set them back six points, 37-31 to UL Lafayette with 2:45 on the clock. A 3-point play by

Ayriel Anderson tied the contest up for the eighth time of the day at 37-all.

Anderson's three with 1:42 on the clock was the last time Texas State scored in the third as the Ragin' Cajuns ultimately took a five-point lead going into the final 10 minutes of the game.

UL Lafayette continued to build on its lead in the fourth. The first double-digit lead of the day came with 7:06 left in the game. Burns hit another three to snap the Ragin' Cajun run and cut the lead to just seven with 6:16 left on the clock. That would prove to be the closest Texas State would come to the Ragin' Cajuns as UL Lafayette ended the game on a 10-5 run.

The Ragin' Cajuns forced 21 Bobcat turnovers while only committing 13. UL Lafayette went on to outscore Texas State 21-6 from points off turnovers. Texas State only made one trip to the foul line, just one game after reaching the line 37 times.
