LAFAYETTE, La. – Cold shooting from the floor by the Texas State women's basketball team resulted in a 64-41 setback to the UL Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns Thursday evening.

The Bobcats did, however, continue to shoot well from the charity stripe, going 20-for-25 (80 percent) for the evening.

The Bobcats fell behind early and never recovered as UL Lafayette forced 19 turnovers and limited Texas State to just 9-for-44 shooting for the night. The first Bobcat points of the evening came with 13:54 left in the first half on two made free throws by
Jacqueline Jeffcoat.

The Texas State bench outscored UL Lafayette 15-12 as
Taeler Deer produced eight points for the Bobcats.
Erin Peoples lead all Bobcats with nine and
Ayriel Anderson, who knocked down a pair of three-pointers for Texas State, contributed eight points.

Kileah Mays led all Bobcats with eight rebounds.

With the defeat, the Bobcats fall to 15-10 overall and 10-6 in Sun Belt Conference action. Texas State now sits in fourth place in the SBC, a game behind the Troy Trojans who earned a victory earlier in the evening.
