Tailgating and Game Day Parking - October 24, 2015
Due to continued heavy rain, wind, lightning, and pooling of water in the stadium area parking lots, tailgating for today's game has been cancelled in the Coliseum and Mill Street lots. Parking lots will remain closed until two hours before game time (4:00 PM) in these areas and will open for game day parking only. No tents, canopies, generators, or electrical equipment will be allowed in the lots. Bobcat shuttle bus service will begin running at 3:00 PM and the game is scheduled to start on time at 6:00 PM.
Today's game can be seen on television on the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel, 323 across the state exclusively for Time Warner Cable customers as well as on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app on your mobile device. (http://es.pn/1W2oKC0)
We appreciate your understanding that we are making these decisions for the safety of our fans and guests.Â
Dear Bobcat Fans,
Regarding our football game tomorrow and our two soccer games this weekend, we are still set to kick off at 6 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium versus South Alabama in football and are proceeding with our two soccer games tonight and Sunday as well. We are aware of the weather forecasts but plan to start our games on time as long as there is not lightening in the area. In the event that we do have a lightening delay and need to clear the stands of Bobcat Stadium, fans are encouraged to seek shelter in the concourse or their vehicles. In the event that the stadium must be temporarily cleared, all fans will be allowed back in the stadium with a valid ticket or student ID once play resumes. All soccer fans will be encouraged to seek shelter in the Speck parking garage on west campus near the soccer field.
We want to encourage everyone to come to the games prepared with rain gear and umbrellas. We do allow umbrellas in Bobcat Stadium, and they can be used as long as you are not impeding someone else's view of the field. We currently have over 13,000 tickets sold and are expecting several thousand students for the game and hope that everyone will try to make it. Our highest priority in the event of inclement weather is the safety of our fans, and we encourage everyone traveling to the game to be safe and cautious taking the necessary precautions to avoided flooded or otherwise potentially hazardous road conditions. Be safe and Eat' Em Up Cats!
