SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team could not overcome an 18-point deficit after the first half as it ultimately fell to the UALR Trojans by a score of 65-45 Thursday evening. The Bobcats fall to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the young Sun Belt Conference season.

After being down by as many as 23 in the second, the Bobcats rattled off a 13-5 run to cut the Trojan lead to 15 with 6:51 remaining on the clock. That would prove to be as close as the Bobcats could come for the remainder of the evening.

UALR got off to a fast start against the Bobcats, jumping out to a 10-2 lead in the first three minutes of the contest. That lead continued to build to as many as 21 with 3:24 remaining in the period.

One of the differences in the contest was the shooting percentage between the squads in the first half. Texas State went just 8-for-31 in the first while the Trojans finished with a 15-for-36 effort from the floor. Texas State went on to improve to 11-for-27 (40.7 percent) in the second half, besting the Trojans in that category.

Three Bobcats finished the game with double figures, led by
Ayriel Anderson and
Erin Peoples with 11.
Kileah Mays matched her career-high with 10 for Texas State.
