Bobcats Host Appalachian State Saturday

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team continues its two-game home stand Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., when it takes on Appalachian State. It will mark just the second meeting between the two schools after the Bobcats won 79-68 in Cancun in 2010 as part of the ESPN Governors Cup.

The Bobcats are coming off a tight defensive battle against Georgia Southern in which they fell 45-43 Thursday night. The game marked the first time since 1952 that Texas State has held the same opponent to 45 or less in consecutive meetings after allowing just 40 in the first meeting in early January.

Texas State has moved back into the top-30 in the country defensively, averaging just 58.9 points per game, tops in the Sun Belt..

Scouting Appalachian State

Appalachian State comes into Saturday's game riding a three-game win streak, highlighted by a win over Georgia State in Boone, N.C. The Mountaineers are 4-4 in conference play and 7-10 overall.

Frank Eaves is the team's leading scorer at 17.3 points per game, and owns the team lead in steals with 22.
