Bobcats Back on the Road Saturday

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off one of its best offensive performances of the season, the Texas State men's basketball team travels to Arkansas State, Saturday at 7:05 p.m., on ESPN3. 

Thursday night, Texas State made a season-high 10 three-pointers in its 82-71 win over South Alabama. It was the most three-pointers by the Bobcats since making 11 vs. Northern Kentucky in Puerto Vallarta last season. 

Kavin Gilder-Tilbury and Emani Gant each had career-highs against South Alabama, with 16 and 22 points respectively. For Tilbury it was the second time in his last three games he has scored 15 or more points. Gant went 11-of-14 from the field Thursday night, moving his field goal percentage for the year to .576, good for third in the country.

Scouting Arkansas State

Arkansas State comes into Saturday's game 7-8 overall and 2-4 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Red Wolves are nearly identical to the Bobcats offensively, averaging 65.4 points per game compared to 65.3 for Texas State. 

The Red Wolves have just three returning players from last year's team, and have a conference-high 12 newcomers. Leading the way for Arkansas State is Cameron Golden who is averaging 15.4 points per game. He is one of two players averaging over 15.0 points per game, joining Anthony Livingston who is averaging 15.0 points per game.
