Mobile, Ala. –
The Texas State men's basketball team will have its season come down to a winner-take-all game, Saturday night at 7:30 p.m., against Troy, following the Bobcats' 63-53 loss to South Alabama, coupled with the Trojans 87-86 loss in double overtime against UT Arlington.

Texas State found itself in a hole early, as South Alabama ran out to a 20-8 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. Turnovers plagued the Bobcats in the first 20 minutes, as they committed 12 in the first half, after averaging just over 13 per game this season. The two teams played even the rest of the first half as the Jaguars took a 31-18 lead into halftime.

The Bobcats came out with a vengeance in the second half, beginning the period on a 6-0 run to cut the Jaguar lead to seven. After South Alabama put its lead back to 49-36, Texas State answered with an 8-0 run to make it a 49-44 game with 8:28 to go, as Joel Wright scored two of his game-high 21 points.

A few minutes later, Wright used his acrobatics under the rim to cut USA's lead to 52-48 with 5:12 to go. Unfortunately that is as close as the team would come due to Ken Williams hitting a left corner three with just over a minute to play, putting the Jaguars up 61-53.

Saturday's game will give the Bobcats chance to sweep the season series against Troy. Troy is currently one game ahead of Texas State in the standings at 5-12. If the two teams end up tied in the standings the Bobcats would advance by virtue of sweeping the season series.

Saturday's winner-take all game can be heard at 7:30 p.m., on 89.9 FM KTSW and www.txstatebobcats.com/radio.
