MOBILE, Ala. – The Texas State soccer team saw its season come to an end on Friday evening as the No. 3 Bobcats fell to the No. 2 Troy Trojans by a score of 1-0. The Bobcats conclude the 2014 season with an 11-7-2 overall record and 5-3-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference.

Just over two minutes into the contest, Troy notched the first and only goal of the contest to take an early lead over Texas State. Mallary Hedden scored on a header after she was served a cross from the right side by Paige McMillan.

Troy proceeded to maintain possession for the opening minutes of the contest. It wasn't until time had passed that the Bobcat offense picked up.

Landry Lowe came in off the bench for Texas State and fired off a team-high two shots in the first half.

The Bobcats came out firing in the second half as
Lynsey Curry launched a shot from the right side that hit off the cross bar.
Ali Myers then came in on the rebound, but her shot was ultimately blocked and the Bobcat threat was eliminated.

Later on in the half, the Bobcats were presented with a free kick that ended in a shot by
Lynsey Curry that was ultimately saved.

In the 74
th minute, the Bobcats had the most open look at the goal that they saw all game as the combo of Curry and
Kassi Hormuth were able to pull Troy goalkeeper out of the net. Hormuth's shot, however, flew right of the empty net.

Texas State goalkeeper
Caitlynn Rinehart produced a huge save in the 80 minutes of play to keep the contest tied up at 1-0.

In the 87th minute,
Kristen Champion fired off a shot that, for the second time in the contest, hit off the cross bar, denying the Bobcats of tying it up.

Texas State finished the match with 10 shots compared to 11 by the Trojans. Rinehart recorded three saves in goal for Texas State.
