SAN MARCOS, Texas- The Sun Belt Conference and College Sports Madness selected Texas State junior running back Robert Lowe as the SBC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.  He also was named an Honorable Mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award as the National Player of the Week.
 
Lowe recorded the NCAA FBS third-highest total of rushing yards for games played on Nov. 19-22 with a career-best of 236 yards.
 
He also scored career-high four touchdowns to lead Texas State to a 45-27 victory over Arkansas State.
 
His four rushing touchdowns are the second-highest total in the Sun Belt Conference this season.
 
Lowe's first touchdown came on a 26-yard run in the second quarter to give the Bobcats a 14-7 lead. Texas State never trailed again in the game. He also scored on a nine-yard run in the second quarter to extend the lead to 28-7 as the Bobcats ended the first half with a 28-14 lead. In addition, Lowe also scored on a 24-yard run with 13:06 left in the game and ended the scoring in the game with a 50-yard run.
 
The victory gives Texas State six wins this season and makes the Bobcats bowl eligible for the second straight year. Texas State looks for its seventh win this Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Georgia State for a game the kicks off at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia Dome.
 
 
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division 1 football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four year D1 Texas college
