Box Score Odiari Earns Honorable Mention Defensive Lineman Of The Week
SAN MARCOS, Texas – College Football Performance Awards announced Monday morning that Texas State's
Terrence Franks has been named its National Running Back of the Week and selected defensive end
Michael Odiari as an honorable mention Defensive Lineman of the Week.
Franks set a school record and had the sixth-highest yardage total in Sun Belt Conference history when he ran for career-highs of 284 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries to lead Texas State to a 35-30 victory over Idaho. His first run of the game was for a 70-yard touchdown and gave the Bobcats a 7-3 lead. He set a school record and had the second-longest run in Sun Belt Conference history with a 95-yard carry for the touchdown on his second carry in the game. Franks also had another 70-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. His 284 yards are the fourth-highest total in school history and was the sixth-highest in SBC history. His three touchdowns equal a career-high he set in 2011 and are the most touchdowns scored in a game by a Sun Belt Conference player this season.
Odiari logged a career-best 4.5 sacks against Idaho and also had two quarterback hurries against the Vandals. He also finished the game with five tackles, including four solo stops and 4.5 tackle for losses of 22 yards. Odiari's performance came after he logged a career-best 13 tackles, including 3.0 tackle for losses of 10 yards at Tulsa.
Texas State will play its next game on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when the Bobcats play host to UL Lafayette at Bobcat Stadium. The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
