Bobcats Host Danny Kaspar's Old Team Tuesday

Notes

San Marcos, Texas
– The Texas State men's basketball team will play its first regular season home game Tuesday against head coach Danny Kaspar's previous team, Stephen F. Austin, at 7:00 p.m., at Strahan Coliseum. The Bobcats are coming off a tough game against Houston which saw the Cougars prevail 76-70.

Making his impressive debut on Friday against Houston was sophomore forward Emani Gant who led the team with 19 points in his first career Division I game. Along with his 19 points, Gant also had four assists and three steals, leading the team in both those categories as well.

Coach Kaspar will face seven of his former players on Tuesday with SFA. He was in Nacogdoches for 13 years, compiling 246 wins during that time, and led the Lumberjacks to a 27-5 record last season and the regular season Southland Conference championship. SFA played in the NIT last season against Stanford, coming up just short.

For fans who cannot make the game against SFA, the game is available on KTSW 89.9 FM, or online at www.txstatebobcats.com.
