San Marcos, Texas – Coming off a 24-17 win over Georgia State, Texas State will wrap up its current three-game homestand on Saturday against South Alabama at 6:00 p.m., at Bobcat Stadium on Homecoming.
Last week the Bobcats used a strong running game to put away the Panthers, rushing for a season-high 296 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Robert Lowe was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week for his strong performance. He had a career-high 177 yards on 21 carries. Chris Nutall also added two rushing touchdowns. Nutall ranks fifth in the league with six rushing TDs this season.
Like Texas State, South Alabama is a transition school to the FBS. The Jaguars enter the game with a 3-3 record this year, and are coming off a 38-21 victory over Kent State. South Alabama is ranked second in the league in passing offense with 277.8 yards per game.
