Game Notes

San Marcos, Texas Texas State will continue its three-game road stint with trips to Idaho and Seattle this week. The Bobcats will play at Idaho on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. CT, and then at Seattle on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. CT.

Series

Texas State will play both Idaho and Seattle for the first time in school history.

Scouting Texas State

Texas State captured an 81-78 overtime victory at UTSA to earn its first league win on Jan. 19. The Bobcats are 1-5 on the road this season, with two games left on their current road stint. Joel Wright ranks in the top three in the league in scoring with 16.4 points per game. He also ranks in the top 10 in rebounds with 6.5 boards per game. Texas State is the only school with four players (Wright, Deonte' Jones, Phil Hawkins, and Wes Davis) ranked in the top 15 in three-point field goal percentage in WAC games.

Scouting Idaho

Idaho won its last outing after defeating UT Arlington, 77-64, on the road. The Vandals post a 3-4 record at home this season. Idaho has three players averaging double figures Kyle Barone (15.6 ppg.), Stephen Madison (15.3 ppg.), and Connor Hill (11.2 ppg). Idaho ranks second in the league in field goal percentage (.478), and third in three-point field goal percentage (.357).

Scouting Seattle

Seattle dropped its last game when it fell at Louisiana Tech, 78-71. The Redhawks are 1-6 in WAC play. Seattle is 4-6 at home, including a three-game losing streak at Key Arena. Clarence Trent is the top scorer for Seattle with 11.4 ppg. The Redhawks are sixth in the league in both scoring offense (67.8 ppg.) and field goal percentage (.419).
