San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State Bobcat Club hosted the 24th annual Bobcat Bonanza presented by Texas Roadhouse on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, in the Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Fields Bobcat Stadium West Side Complex. Over 400 attendees raised a record-breaking $135,000 for Bobcat student-athlete scholarships. The amount raised at this year's Bobcat Bonanza was a 34% increase over the amount raised at last year's event, which was the previous record for money raised.

“This year's Bobcat Bonanza was a tremendous success,” said Chris Park, assistant athletic director for development. “The monumental increase in money raised for scholarships is a testament to our wonderful sponsors behind the event and those who supported and attended this year's Bobcat Bonanza. We thank everyone involved for helping raise a record amount for student-athlete scholarships.”

Bobcat Bonanza began Friday evening on the Champions Club and Legacy Suite Levels of Bobcat Stadium with silent and live auctions being held.  Dinner and drinks were provided, and attendees enjoyed a game-day atmosphere while watching the Bobcat football team hold a 120 play scrimmage.  Following the scrimmage, Texas State head football coach Dennis Franchione and his staff greeted guests.

On Saturday morning, the Bobcat Bonanza Golf Tournament presented by Pioneer Bank was held at Plum Creek Golf Club. 90 golfers participated in the scramble-format tournament which included closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and beat-the-pro contests. Coach Franchione and his staff also played in the tournament.
