San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State men's hoops team will cap their three-game home stand on Saturday, Dec. 8 when UT Pan American comes to San Marcos. Tip-off versus the Broncs is slated for 2 p.m.
Series
UT Pan American owns a 19-12 lead in the all-time series, which began on Dec. 19, 1960. Saturday will be the fourth time in as many years that the two teams will have played each other.
Scouting Texas State
Texas State enters Saturday's contest with a 3-5 record. The Bobcats look to take down UTPA in their final game of the three-game home stand. Junior transfer Joel Wright and senior Matt Staff both lead Texas State with an average of 15.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. The duo is ranked sixth in the WAC in scoring. The Bobcats are averaging 75.1 points per game. Texas State is 2-3 so far this season at home.
Scouting UT Pan American
Brandon Provost is the Broncs leading scorer. The Katy, Texas native is averaging 16.4 points per game. Fellow teammate Aaron Urbanus is shooting an average of 12.6 points per game, in addition to dishing out a team-high 34 assists. As a team the Broncs average 63.6 points per game. UTPA is on a one-game losing streak after falling to WAC opponent UT Arlington, 60-51, on Dec. 3. The Broncs are 0-3 on the road this season and 1-5 away from home.

November 19, 2011 – UT Pan American 79, Texas State 77
Matt Staff led Texas State with 14 points and nine rebounds. Eddie Rios added 14 points, Nick Hinton had 12 points and Brooks Ybarra had 11 points. UTPA was led by Jared Maree who had 21 points. Brandon Provost had 20 points, while Josh Cleveland added 14 points. The teams played each other as a part of the UTPA Tournament.
