The Texas State football team looks to improve its overall record to 5-4 and its Southland Conference mark to 2-3 on Saturday, November 6, when the Bobcats return to Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium and play host to Central Arkansas in their final regular season home game.  The game kicks off at 2:00 p.m.

 

MEDIA COVERAGE 

The Texas State vs. Central Arkansas game will be regionally televised on the Southland Conference Television Network with Doug Anderson serving as the play-by-play announcer and LaDarrin McLane serving as the analyst.  The game can also be heard on KTSW-FM 89.9 and online at www.txstatebobcats.com/All-Access. Veteran Bobcat announcers Brant Freeman and Bill Culhane will describe the action.  

 

Looking At Texas State

 Texas State evened its record to 4-4 overall last Saturday after upsetting third-ranked Stephen F.  Austin with a 27-24 victory. The Bobcats scored all 27 of its points in the final 9:21 of the game against the Lumberjacks. The victory snapped a three-game skid after the Bobcats suffered a 16-3 loss against Northwestern State, a 47-45 quadruple overtime loss versus Nicholls and a 49-24 setback at Southeastern Louisiana.  

Those three losses came after Texas State won three straight home games with a 31-17 victory over Southern Arkansas on September 11, a 21-12 win over then #17-ranked Cal Poly on September 18 and a 42-28 victory over Southern Utah on September 25.  

 

LOOKING AT CENTRAL ARKANSAS

Central Arkansas enters Saturday's game with a 5-3 overall record after defeating Southeastern Louisiana 30-23 last Saturday in Conway.  The win was the second straight victory for the Bears, who also won 31-7 at Nicholls on October 23. UCA opened Southland Conference play with a 24-19 loss against Northwestern State and a 30-7 setback at Stephen F. Austin.  

 

SERIES RECORD

Texas State enters Saturday's game with a 1-2 series record against Central Arkansas after defeating the Bears 27-24 in Conway last season. The Bobcats are 0-1 versus UCA at Bobcat Stadium after suffering a 31-24 setback in 2008.  

 

WHO'S NEXT?

Following the Central Arkansas game, the Bobcats close out the regular season with two straight road games at McNeese State on November 13 and at Sam Houston State on November 20.
