Travis Comer joined Texas State Athletics in 2008 and is currently the Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Administration. Comer oversees all fundraising initiatives which include capital campaigns, a comprehensive major gift program, an annual giving program and securing private/corporate financial support for the athletics department.
 
Comer also serves as the sport administrator for football, track and field, and cross country as well as oversight of strength and conditioning.

Since his arrival, the Bobcats have received record-setting support for annual giving and major gift fundraising. Under his leadership, the development efforts played an integral role in the Pride in Action capital campaign seeing record numbers in scholarships, endowment support, program fundraising and facility funding.
 
In his time with the Bobcats, Comer has also served as the sport administrator for baseball and men’s and women’s golf as well as overseen communications and creative services.

Comer came to Texas State after serving more than six years as the director of sales and marketing at New Mexico. He was responsible for the marketing and promotional campaigns for Lobo athletics, ticket sales and telemarketing campaigns, media sponsorships, university licensing, game day operations, corporate sponsorships and community relations.

During his time at UNM, the Lobos set season and group ticket sales records in football, women’s basketball, men’s basketball and baseball. Additionally, ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, Multi Media Rights and licensing also reached an all-time high during his tenure.
 
Before his stint at New Mexico, he worked two years at ESPN Regional at the University of South Florida.  During this time, Comer was responsible for presenting and securing corporate sponsorships, game management, promotions, produced public address scripts, and oversaw the Jr. Bulls Kids Club, sponsor fulfillment and game sponsorships.
 
He began his career in athletics administration as a ticket office intern at Tulane in 1999. He also served as the interim ticket office manager and was responsible for the entire operations of the ticket office, donor relations, daily audits and managing the on-campus merchandise store.
 
Comer graduated from the University of Findlay in 1999 and was a team captain and member of the Findlay football. He also earned a master's degree from the University of New Mexico in 2004.
 
Comer and his wife Amanda have three children: McKay, Mason and Katey.
