Selina Flores

Selina Flores was named the Texas State Strutters Director in 2021, becoming the fourth person ever to hold that role. In her time, she has created the Strutters Fall Spectacular Show and took the Strutters to perform a show at the waterside stage in Disney Springs for the Disney World's 50th Anniversary. 

Flores is a graduate of Texas State University where she was a first-year member, Lieutenant for two years, and the Head Captain of the Texas State Strutters Dance Team. She was a member of the Strutters Jazz Elite Performance Team and Pom squad for all four years while under the direction of the second Strutters Director, Susan Angell-Gonzales and the third Strutters Director, Tammy Fife. Flores had the opportunity to travel with Strutters to New York City to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Paris Disney for the day parade. During her time in college, she also taught at a studio ranging in ages from 2-18 teaching ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and drill team prep.

Upon graduation, Flores was on a professional arena football team dance team for one year serving as a Group Leader under the direction of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader alumni, Maya Hayes. The following year, Flores was selected as a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for two years. While on the team she performed with Eric Church and Thomas Rhett during nationally televised halftime shows, performed in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, and was selected to go on the 82nd USO tour to Air Force bases around the nation.

Following her professional experience she was the Assistant Director for the award winning Langham Creek High School Bailadoras Dance Team and Fine Arts dance teacher in Cypress Fairbanks ISD in Houston, Texas. She has also been on staff at ShowMakers of America Dance Company for over 10 years.

In 2020, she was named Assistant Director for the Strutters before earning the director role the following year.

Flores began her dance education at the age of three and was trained in ballet, tap, and jazz in San Antonio, Texas. She joined her middle school dance team and served as an officer. She was a member of the Smithson Valley High School Dance Team for four years serving as a Junior Lieutenant and Senior Head Captain. She received awards and scholarships for Miss High Kick throughout camp and competitions.
