Lindsey Olsen is in her first year (2024-25) as the Associate Athletics Director for Communications at Texas State and serves as the primary contact for football and men’s and women’s golf, while overseeing strategic communications including media relations, sport social media and creative content as a leader in the external operations unit.
With 20 years of athletics experience as a student-athlete and communications professional, Olsen has worked in multiple NCAA Division I collegiate athletics programs and professional sports with stops at Indy Eleven, SMU, Morehead State and Marian (Ind.).
Olsen arrived at Texas State after serving as the director of communications for Indy Eleven out of the USL Championship. While in Indianapolis, she also served as the primary media liaison for the National Champion W League team. Olsen coordinated all player, staff, and front office media availability, developed feature content highlighting various aspects of the program and assisted with strategic social media campaigns and served as the lead communications voice for the club.
Prior to her stop with Indy Eleven, Olsen spent 10 seasons in the athletics public relations office at SMU. While in Dallas, she served as the primary contact for the football and swimming & diving programs. Throughout her tenure at SMU, Olsen also worked with the men's and women's soccer teams, men’s and women's golf programs and rowing.
As part of the football public relations team, the office was one of 11 honored nationally by the Football Writers Association of America in 2013 with the "Super 11" Award for excellence in sports information. The "Super 11" is handed out to departments which were deemed the best in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
In addition to her public relations duties, she was responsible for men's basketball press operations, credentials and gameday staffing, as well as website maintenance and day-to-day office administrative duties.
Olsen arrived at SMU after serving a year as the athletic media relations staff assistant at Morehead State University. As a member of the Eagles' staff, she was responsible for the day-to-day media operations of the women's soccer, rifle, softball, cheerleading and dance teams. Her duties also included event management and publication design.
From 2009-11, Olsen served as the graduate assistant for sports information at Marian University in Indianapolis, where she was the primary contact for men's soccer, cross country, track and field, women's basketball, men's tennis and softball. While at Marian, Olsen also served as a lecturer of exercise and sport studies, specializing in coaching courses.

Olsen completed her bachelor’s degree in electronic media and gender and ethnic studies at Butler University in 2009, and served as a media relations student assistant for the men's and women's soccer programs. She competed on the soccer team and was a member of the dance team at Butler. In 2011, she earned a master's degree from Ball State University in physical education with a coaching specialization.
