Tiffany Baker

Tiffany Baker starts her second season as part of the Texas State coaching staff, joining last season as a graduate assistant after playing at a high level in college. While Texas State Volleyball has built a winning tradition of its own with seven conference championships and eight conference tournament championships, Baker is also no stranger to success.

The Carrollton, Texas native spent two seasons on the nationally recognized Texas Longhorn volleyball team, going to the NCAA semifinals in both years, and started her collegiate playing career at Tennessee. Before committing to Tennessee, Baker was the 2010 Texas Gatorade Player of the Year at Hebron High School and rated as the No. 4 national recruit coming out of high school.

While at Texas, Baker served as a co-captain and helped the team win the Big 12 Conference Championship in consecutive seasons. At Tennessee, she was a two-time All-SEC Second Team honoree and was also named to the 2011 All-SEC Freshman Team as she helped the squad win the Southeastern Conference Championship.

In addition to her multiple athletic achievements, Baker showed her academic prowess with the Provost Award in her final year at Texas. She was also a two-time recipient of both the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Award and the Volleyball Academic MVP award. Baker was also a three-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and three-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree at UT. While at Tennessee, she was named Academic All-SEC in 2011 and 2012.

With an undergraduate degree in health promotion and a minor in business foundations, Baker has also been building her coaching resume. In the spring of 2015, Baker served as undergraduate assistant coach at Texas. She has also been a camp coach for two seasons at Texas as well as two more seasons at Tennessee in addition to serving as a teaching assistant at Texas in 2014.

Adding to her athletic and academic priorities, Baker has also been active in community service. She has participated in projects ranging from Habitat for Humanity, volleyball clinics, TexasTHON Miracle Families, SAAC and much more.

While at Texas State, Baker is pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare administration.
