Charli Fouts

Charli Fouts was promoted to assistant coach in the Spring of 2023 after joining the team in July of 2021 as a graduate assistant.

In 2024, which was her fourth season on staff, Fouts helped the Bobcats to their second-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. This came after the Bobcats swept the Sun Belt Conference Tournament to become Sun Belt Champions this season. Fouts helped the Bobcats to a 22-9 record while earning three All-Conference selections.

In her third season, 2023, Fouts helped the team to its first at-large appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history. Fouts helped the Bobcats to a 20-10 finish on the year that included a 1st place finish in the Sun Belt West Division.

Since joining the staff in ahead of the 2021 season, the Bobcats have had 20 or more wins in each of her four seasons with the program. In that time the program has developed 16 all-conference players, three Sun Belt Setter of the Year awards, two Offensive Player of the Year awards, and a Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year.

In November 2021, Fouts was one of 18 recipients of the 2021 Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship that allowed a select group of up-and-coming volleyball coaches to attend their first AVCA Convention, by covering their registration fee and hotel costs for the event. Current Texas State volleyball associate head coach Keith Anderson, who was a recipient of the opportunity in 2014, severed as a mentor for one of the recipients of Fouts' class.

Fouts is a three-year letter from Canyon High School and played NCAA Division I volleyball as a defensive specialist at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. where she was named on the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll every season.

While Fouts was in Louisiana, she spent two years as the head coach for Rocketfuel, Natchitoches’ first-ever club volleyball team. After spreading the game of volleyball in the small Louisiana community, she returned home to the competitive Lone Star region. Fouts then interned under former Texas State recruiting coordinator Tracy Smith with United VBA’s 17 Purple National team. Fouts helped lead the team to a fifth-place finish at the Red Rock Rave Junior National Qualifier in Las Vegas. Fouts will head coach the 141 Purple National team this season at United.

Fouts graduated from NSU in May 2021 with a bachelor’s of science degree in health and exercise science with a minor in business administration. She is pursuing a master’s degree at Texas State in exercise science with a concentration in sports coaching and strength and conditioning.
