Callahan Hefner joined the Bobcats in the spring of 2025 as a graduate assistant. The Austin native returns home to join Head Coach Sean Huiet's staff ahead of the 2025 season.
Hefner joined the Bobcats after serving as the manager for Grand Canyon Volleyball throughout the 2024 volleyball season. He was part of a Lopes team that finished the season with a 20-11 record and made an appearance in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament Championship.Â
Prior to joining the Lopes, Callahan was part of Pepperdine's 2023 roster where he had to medically retire after his freshman season. He was on the 2022 AAU 18 Open Indoor National Champion with OCVC—was 1 of 14 athletes in the country to be placed on the AAU 18 Open All-American Team.
Also in 2022 he was named to the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 list as a senior at Westlake High School. He is a graduate of Westlake High School in Austin, Texas where he also served as a manager of their women's volleyball team.
Hefner was also a USA Volleyball 18U Beach Volleyball National Champion in 2020 and was one of 22 athletes for the U19 Boys’ National Training Team in the summers of 2020 and 2021.
