Appeared in seven games as a true freshman … played a career-high 13 minutes in her collegiate debut against Texas Lutheran on Nov. 5 … also set a career high in rebounds (4), assists (3) and blocks (1) against Texas Lutheran … scored a career-high nine points against Texas Permian Basin on Nov. 16 … made a career-high three 3-point shots against Texas Permian Basin … credited with a steal against TCU (12/22) and UT Arlington (2/22) … dished out an assist and scored two points against Troy (1/23) in seven minutes of game time
High School:
Hails from Tom C. Clark High School in San Antonio and plays for Rihana Nouy. The Cougars have won Bi-District titles in 2016 and 2018, while being area champions and regional finalists in 2018. Paz y Puente was named first team all-district and TABC all-region in 2017-18 after registering 14 points and eight assists per contest. She won the 3-point contest at the NBA America's team camp and competed for Mexico in the FIBA U-18 Women's America Cup. In the AAU circuit, she plays for San Antonio's Finest. She has been academic all-district each of the previous three seasons and is a member of the National Honor Society. Paz y Puente volunteers at Haven for Hope, Sock it to Cancer and the Start Center for Cancer Cure.
Personal:
She is the daughter of Manuel and Lizy Paz y Puente. She has two older brothers, Manny and Carlo. Manny played basketball at the University of Technologico de Monterry for four years. He now plays professionally for Laguneros de La Comarca in Torreon, Mexico.
