Laura Terry

Laura Terry currently is in her first season as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team. Terry joins the Bobcat coaching staff after spending the previous season as an assistant coach at Weber State where she was responsible for on-court coaching and recruiting as well as duties such as scouting, player development, and community service initiatives.

While at Weber State, Terry primarily worked with post players including Jalen Carpenter, who led the team in scoring and rebounding. Another post player, Zakiyyah Shahid-Martin, was nominated for the NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year. Weber State was also home to the nation's steals leader, Gina Okoye.

Prior to her time with the Wildcats, Terry spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Western Kentucky. In her first season with the Lady Toppers, she helped produce one of the nation's best turnarounds as Western Kentucky recorded 13 more victories than the season prior, setting the Sun Belt Conference record for largest win improvement. The 2013-14 season then brought a 24-9 overall record and an SBC Tournament Championship which granted WKU a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008.

A native of Ironton, Ohio, Terry played three years of collegiate basketball at Louisville where she was a member of the 2009 team that went to the national championship game. She played in 64 games with the Cardinals and started in eight of those contests. She ultimately finished her career a 52 percent shooter from the field before injuries shortened her career. At that point, Terry remained with the Cardinals as a student assistant for the next two seasons.

Terry attended Rose Hill High School and earned second-team All-State honors during her junior and senior seasons. She also helped Rose Hill become the smallest school to reach the KHSAA Sweet 16 Championship Game during her junior year, and another state-tournament appearance as a senior.

She earned a degree from the University of Louisville with a double major in Health and Human Performance and Physical Education.
