Hanna Macer

Hanna Macer is in her first season on the Texas State Women's Basketball staff after joining in April of 2026. 

Macer came to San Marcos with Head Coach Chris Kielsmeier after spending the previous four seasons with him at Cleveland State. She started her tenure at Cleveland State as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach during the 2022-23 season, and then became the Director of Basketball Operations in 2023-24 until leaving the program at the end of the 2025-26 season and joining Texas State as the Chief of Staff. 

Macer was instrumental in helping the Vikings capture the 2022-23 Horizon League Tournament title and 2023-24 season’s Horizon League Regular Season championship. Additionally, the team made a Great 8 appearance in the 2024-26 WNIT.

Prior to joining the Vikings in August of 2022, Macer spent time as the Assistant Director of Unified Champion Schools for Special Olympics South Dakota, where she coordinated day-to-day programming activities, implemented intramural sports with local high schools and colleges, while also assisting with the writing and reporting of UCS grants.

In addition to working at Special Olympics South Dakota, Macer also served as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics Administration at Augustana University where she helped with donor development, event management, marketing, and fan engagement. 

Macer is a 2017 graduate of Bemidji State University, where she was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team.
