Bria Bethea joined Texas State women's basketball as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2025.
Bethea played college basketball at Murray State and Southeastern Illinois Community College. Throughout her three seasons with Murray State she appeared in 81 games averaging 10.99 points per game, scoring 890 career points in her three seasons there. She shot 42.3% from the field and 38.4% from beyond the arc. She also brought down 364 rebounds, had 97 assists, 60 steals and 50 blocks.
In her freshman season, Bethea played at Southeastern Illinois where she was NJCAA Region 24 Freshman of the Year ... she was also a 1st Team All-Region pick while she led her team in scoring with 19.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She was ranked 24th in the nation in scoring while tallying nine double-doubles.
