Addie Lees

The 2017-18 season is Addie Lees’ third year on Zenarae Antoine’s staff at Texas State University, where she serves as an assistant coach and the Bobcats’ recruiting coordinator. Lees’ main responsibility is recruiting high school and junior college student-athletes. She also assists with player development and scouting. She will continue to work with the guard position for the 2017-18 season.

The 2016-17 season, Lees' second at Texas State, saw the Bobcats finish 16-15 overall, including an 11-7 record in Sun Belt play, which garnered the No. 4 seed in the Sun Belt Championship, and earn an at-large berth to the WBI. The Bobcats, which won 10 of 12 games during the heart of the Sun Belt schedule, were the only team in the league to defeat each of the top three teams in the final conference standings. In addition to conference success, the Bobcats posted key nonconference wins over Houston, North Texas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Guard Taeler Deer earned Third Team All-Sun Belt honors after averaging a career-high 10.8 points per game. Moreover, guard Toshua Leavitt sank 77 3-pointers to rank second on the TXST single season list, including a program-record tying seven in the quarterfinal round of the Sun Belt Championship.

In 2015-16 season, Lees’ first season on the Texas State staff, was highlighted by wins over North Texas and rival UTSA along with Sun Belt Conference victories against Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Little Rock, Appalachian State and UL Monroe. In addition, she aided guard Taeler Deer to both the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week and College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week in late November after a 32-point performance to lead the Bobcats to a 64-62 win over a North Texas team that had previously upset then-No. 17 Oklahoma. As a team, the Bobcats set the all-time Texas State record for made 3-point field goals in a season with 232, eclipsing the previous record of 207 set in 2014-15.

Lees came to San Marcos after spending the 2014-15 season as the head coach of Clarendon College in Clarendon, Texas.

While with Clarendon, Lees was responsible for recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, scouting, game and practice preparation, travel, academic progress, fundraising and conditioning/weight workouts.

Clarendon earned several key victories in 2014-15, including wins against South Plains College and No.4 ranked and defending conference champion New Mexico Junior College for the first time in program history.

Her Clarendon squad also earned NJCAA Academic Honorable Mention honors in 2015. Lees also coached two all-conference players while at Clarendon.

Her coaching career began at Eastern New Mexico University, where she was a graduate assistant coach from 2009-11. In all, Lees has helped coach a total of seven all-conference players.

As a point guard/shooting guard, Lees enjoyed a successful career as a player as well. Starting with a pair of state championships at Plainview High School to moving to back-to-back regional appearances at Midland College in 2005 and 2006, Lees concluded her playing days at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where she led her team to a conference tournament championship appearance as well as an appearance in the regional semi-final in 2009. She scored a career-best 20 points against Northwestern State University while with the Cotton Blossoms.
