With over 18 years of experience, Coach Baldursson has been a key addition to Texas State Track & Field, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a unique performance background that has strengthened the program in multiple areas.
His expertise in strength, movement, and body control provides valuable support to student-athletes across event groups. Baldursson holds a Master’s in Exercise and Sports Science(TXST 2025), which complements his practical experience in athlete development.
A distinguished Icelandic artistic gymnast, Baldursson represented Iceland in international competition. He competed at multiple World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, including the 2015 championships in Glasgow and the 2018 championships in Doha. He earned a bronze medal in vault at the 2015 Games of the Small States of Europe and competed at the 2017 Northern European Gymnastics Championships in Tórshavn. Baldursson trained with the Gerpla Gymnastic Club in Kópavogur under national coach Robert Kristmannsson.
