Edgerton is in his second year as an assistant coach for sprints, hurdles and relays at Texas State.

In his first season with the Bobcats in 2021-22, Edgerton helped the men's and women's indoor teams finish second in the Sun Belt Conference as well as guiding the outdoor men's and women's teams to third and fourth-place finishes, respectively, in the conference.

Individually, Edgerton led four Bobcats to earn All-America Honorable Mention accolades in the men's 4x100 relay. The group of Bervensky Pierre, Daniel Harrold, Dominick Yancy and Ashton Callahan ran the second-fastest time in school history at the national meet to earn their first career All-America honors.

The Bobcats also had eight entries in the NCAA West Prelims in Fayetteville in sprints, hurdles and relays.

In the outdoor conference season, Edgerton mentored Yancy to the Sun Belt Men's Newcomer of the Year award after the junior won the individual championship in the 400 meters and was the anchor leg on the championship-winning 4x400 men's relay team.

Texas State sprinters totaled 27 school top-10 outdoor marks in Edgerton's first season, including 19 on the men's side and eight on the women's. The men's and women's 4x100 relay each set school records. The record-breaking time by the women's 4x100 surpassed a 19-year school record. Daniel Harrold also set a school record in the 110-meter hurdles, a mark that stood for 35 years.

In the indoor season, the Bobcats totaled 21 school top-10 marks in sprints, relays and hurdles. Yancy set school records in the indoor 200-meter and 400-meter dash.

Prior to Texas State, Edgerton spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons as an assistant coach at Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. Edgerton’s primary responsibilities included coaching the hurdlers, sprinters, mid-distance and cross country athletes.

Coming off his most successful season, Edgerton helped the Cougar men’s outdoor team to its ninth NJCAA National Championship and school’s 58th NJCAA National title. He helped produce an individual national champion in Denzel Feagin in the 200m and five national runner-ups, including the 4X100m and 4X400m relays. In total, Edgerton’s crew generated 49 of the 101 winning points.

On the women’s side, Edgerton helped guide Lashanna Graham to the Central Region Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year while she claimed the Outdoor National Title in the 400m hurdles. Graham captured one of two outdoor titles for the Lady Cougar runners. Kayan Green claimed the outdoor 800m title to complete the sweep after winning the indoor 800m championship.

Edgerton piled up the postseason awards securing his second straight National Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year as well as adding his third straight Region VI Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year (2 Indoor, 1 Outdoor) and Central Region Men’s Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year to his trophy case.

Earning the 2019-20 National Men’s Assistant Coach of the year, Edgerton helped lead the Cougar men to a third straight runner-up indoor finish and a 4th place finish on the women’s side. Completing his first year in the Barton program, Edgerton’s group of Cougars accounted for 53 of Barton’s 99.5 points.

Edgerton arrived to Barton from Texas A&M  where he spent three seasons as a volunteer assistant working with both the men’s & women’s sprints and hurdle athletes.

Graduating Howard University in 2014, Edgerton was an assistant for the Sports Information Department during his collegiate time before earning a degree in Sports Management with a minor in Economics.

A 2009 graduate from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington, D.C, Edgerton returned to his roots to lead Carroll for three seasons which included the sprint powerhouse’s 2016 New Balance national 4x100m relay title and 4x400m relay runner- up.
