Clay Holland

Clay Holland begins his second year as an assistant coach with the Texas State track and field program. Holland coaches decathletes, hurdlers, high jump, and horizontal jumps as well as coordinating team travel.


Holland served as a team captain from 2007 to 2009. He finished his career with a top-5 finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2009 SLC indoor meet and a top-10 finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2009 SLC outdoor meet giving him four top-10 finishes in conference hurdle events in his career.


As a high school athlete, he was ranked in the top-15 in the nation with a time of 13.82 in the 110-meter hurdles. Also, Holland was ranked in the top-10 in the state of Texas in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.02.


Holland graduated from Texas State in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science. During his tenure, he earned Oak Farm Dairy Academic Award honors in 2007 and 2008. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education.
