Calie Spencer

Calie Spencer is in her third season with the Bobcats, overseeing the pole vault group.

In her second season, Spencer helped lead Texas State to a sweep of the men’s and women’s Sun Belt Conference indoor and outdoor championships in 2026.

During the indoor season, every pole vaulter under Spencer’s direction scored points at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, contributing to Texas State’s sweep of the men’s and women’s team titles.

Spencer’s pole vault group continued its success outdoors, with two of three athletes scoring at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships. Caden O’Hara advanced to the NCAA West First Round, where he finished five spots shy of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Spencer also coached Easton Hammond in the pole vault during the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

In her first season at Texas State, Calie made an immediate impact by leading Simon Thor to an NCAA West Regional appearance and guiding her entire pole vault group to scoring performances at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships while setting new personal records across the board.

She joined Texas State from the Lone Star Pole Vaulting Club, where she developed numerous athletes who advanced to compete at the collegiate level.

A former standout vaulter at the University of Texas, she brings firsthand experience and a strong foundation in athlete development. During her career with the Longhorns, her top outdoor season came in 2016–17 when she cleared a personal-best 4.16m (13-7.75) at the Texas Relays. Indoors, she placed third at the Big 12 Championships with a personal-best 4.18m (13-8.50), ranking No. 4 in program history.
