Appeared in 38 games with 25 starts… Started 16 games as the designated player and nine games at catcher… Entered 13 times off of the Bobcat bench (12 as a pinch hitter and once as a defensive replacement)… Hit .139 (10-for-72) with a slugging percentage of .153, an on base percentage of .244 and .364 (4-for-11) with runners in scoring position… Compiled one double, three RBI and scored three runs… Collected first hit of the season against Columbia on Feb. 25 after coming in as a defensive replacement… Had RBI in three different games: vs. Utah (March 2), at Georgia State (March 10) and vs. Coastal Carolina (March 18)… Reached base successfully in six consecutive games from March 14-March 30… Streak started with a hit and a walk at No. 12 Baylor… Drew a walk against UCLA in the 2018 NCAA Los Angeles Regional.

Batted .231 with 40 starts and 44 total appearances in the 2016 season … Drew the game-winning walk in the first game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament after hitting the game-tying home run the inning before … Saw 10 of her 25 total hits go for extra bases, including seven doubles, and finished with 17 RBI … Posted a season-best five-game hitting streak from March 23 – April 2, where she went 6-for-15 (.400) with a double, a home run, and a pair of RBI … Overcame a 1-for-24 start to the season to bat 24-for-84 (.286) the rest of the way … Recorded a .988 fielding percentage, with season-best 10 putouts against Incarnate Word on March 23.

Prior to Texas State (Howard College)
Competed for one season at Howard College … Finished the 2015 season second on the team with a .422 batting average while recording 59 RBIs, 12 home runs, 16 doubles, and a team-high 86 hits for the Hawks … Played in 61 games as a freshman and quickly made her mark as the starting catcher for Howard … With a 23-to-9 walk to strikeout ratio, Young was one of the top two hardest batters to strike out on her team … Also finished her freshman campaign with a .489 on base percentage and a .676 slugging percentage … Young helped lead her Howard team to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament where the Hawks went into the tournament ranked as the No. 6 seed.
