Anna Hernandez

Anna Hernandez enters her first season as the Director of Softball Operations at Texas State after playing four years for the Bobcats.

Hernandez, a 2014 graduate of Texas State, was a four-year starter as a second baseman. In her time on the diamond, Hernandez was a two-time All-Southland Conference pick and was twice named to the SLC All-Tournament Team. She was a member of four (2012 Regular Season, 2012 Tournament, 2011 Tournament, 2010 Regular Season) championship teams while at Texas State.

Academically, she was awarded the Oak Farms Dairy Academic Achievement Award five times for maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher, earned Dean’s List honors four times, named to the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll three times, and was a member of both the SLC and WAC All-Academic Teams.

As the Director of Softball Operations, Hernandez is responsible for the coordination of travel during the season, events throughout the year, and camps/clinics. In addition to her operational responsibilities, Hernandez will work closely with the Upper Deck Club, a donor club that supports Texas State softball.

In 2014, Hernandez was selected to attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum as she was one of 12 student-athletes in the nation who earned the NCAA Ethnic Minorities Postgraduate Scholarship in 2014.

Upon the completion of her eligibility, Hernandez served as a student assistant coach at Texas State. She assisted with the structure of practices and current players with softball-related skills, drills, and practices. Her responsibilities were also to help with game-day operations.

From January-May 2014, Hernandez was a volunteer assistant softball coach at Hays High School, coaching at the JV and Varsity level. She conducted practices after school with both teams and worked primarily with outfielders and hitters.

Hernandez graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Science in exercise and sports science with a minor in health and wellness education as well as earning her Texas Educator Certification. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in business administration. She is expected to graduate in May 2016.
