High School
Valdez joined the Bobcats after spending her one semester at UTSA. Prior to UTSA, she lettered in both softball and volleyball at Brownsville Veterans Memorial High School. Valdez enjoyed tremendous success during the early part of her high school career. She was named 32-6A All-District Freshman of the Year, Brownsville Herald All-Metro Newcomer of the Year and Rio Grande Valley Sports All-Valley Newcomer of the Year. The former Charger was twice named the 32-6A All-District Offensive Player of the Year and claimed All-Metro Most Valuable Player accolades by Brownsville Herald. She was nominated for Softball Player of the Year by Rio Grande Valley Sports. Valdez helped to guide the Brownsville Veterans Memorial Chargers to thee UIL State Playoff appearances and UIL Area Championships in 2015 and 2017.
