Dru Sawyer joined Texas State football in the summer of 2022 as on-campus recruiting coordinator. In March 2023, she added the role of assistant to the head coach.

Originally from Wichita Falls, Texas, Sawyer joined Texas State after serving in recruiting roles at UTSA and Texas.

Sawyer is a graduate of the University of Texas.
