Was her first season at Texas State after transferring from Texas ... played first base in all 61 games of the season ... had 16 runs off 36 hits in 160 at bats ... was walked the most times of any Bobcat with 27 ... had 24 RBI, the second most of any Bobcat ... counted seven extra-base hits including two home runs ... her two home runs came against Colorado State on 2/24 and in the conference play opener at Troy on 3/18 .... lead the team in putouts with 392 ... had the most putouts of any player in the Sun Belt Conference ... had the eighth highest fielding percentage of any player in the Sun Belt with .990 ... had the second highest fielding percentage of any Bobcat ... lead the conference in fielding double plays (19) and total chances (399) ... had a season-high two hits and two runs scored against James Madison on 5/4 ... had a season-high three RBI on 2/10 vs Kent State ... had a season high 15 put outs versus Sam Houston on 4/11

2022 - TEXAS
Hit .282/.367/.462 in 42 games (26 starts) last year for the Longhorns ... 6 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 13 RBI ... Helped UT finish national runner-up last year ... Had 7 hits in the College World Series ... Served as the Longhorns' starting first baseman to end the season.

2021 - TEXAS
Voted as a unanimous choice for the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman Team after batting .319 over 35 games (21 starts) with 11 extra-base hits (eight doubles), 13 RBIs and a .964 OPS.

Travel
Played for both the Texas Bombers 16U and 18U elite teams led by head coach Scott Smith.

High School
Rated No. 93 in the Extra Elite 100 Class of 2020 player rankings and No. 98 on FloSoftball’s Hot 100 list, Smith played both softball and basketball at George Ranch H.S. ... She was a two-time all-district choice on the diamond.

Full name is Jayden “JJ” Jananne Smith ... Daughter of Shawn and Amber Smith ... Has two siblings, Noah and Kyleigh ... Her father played basketball for Southwestern University in Bethany, Okla. ... A standout in the classroom having earned four combined academic all-district nods (one in basketball, three in softball) while boasting a membership in the National Honor Society.
