Played in all 12 games and started 7 games this season ... totaled 57 tackles and one pass breakup ... intercepted a pass and returned it for seven yards against SMU.
 
2018
Played in the final five games of the season…recorded 11 tackles, including four solo stops…had two pass breakups… recorded four tackles against New Mexico State…tallied three stops, including one tackle for loss against Appalachian State.

Garnered all-district accolades as a sophomore, junior and senior ... selected to the Houston Hot 100 list ... named all-state in 2014 as a senior when he was a co-captain under coach Stephen Hill ... helped lead team to an 8-3 record as a senior when he had 65 tackles and four interceptions playing safety ... as a junior he had 26 tackles, eight pass breakups and five interceptions, which tied for the most in Texas TAPPS Division I-5A ... had single-game highs of 13 tackles and two interceptions on defense in his career as well as seven catches for 110 yards on offense ... was also heavily involved in volunteer activities, including doing work with the Houston Food Bank and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Born on May 29, 1997 ... son of Jacqueline and Jonathan Smith ... has one sister, Alicia ... cousins Kolby Listenbee  and Dominique Carrol played football at TCU (WR in 2012-14), and at Stephen F. Austin  (WR  in 2009-11), respectively.
