Texas State Athletics

Zach McCarthy is in his sixth season overall with the Texas State coaching staff and first as defensive analyst. For the last three years, he served as a graduate assistant with the defense. 

He joined the program as a student assistant coach in 2017 before moving to volunteer defensive quality control coach in 2018. 

McCarthy joined the coaching staff after working as a student equipment manager at Texas State in 2014-16. A native of Hot Springs, Ark., McCarthy earned a bachelor’s degree in business management at Texas State in 2017.
