Victor Irokansi is in his second year as a defensive graduate assistant and assists with coaching the defensive line at Texas State.
Irokansi came to Texas State after serving the 2017 spring as a defensive quality control coach at  Eastern Illinois. He worked with the defensive line which tallied 10 sacks and helped the defense win the spring game, 37-20.
Irokansi went to Eastern Illinois after serving as a student assistant coach on Oklahoma State’s coaching staff in 2015 and 2016, when the Cowboys posted back-to-back 10-win seasons and won the 2016 Alamo Bowl over Colorado and played in the 2016 Sugar Bowl. and won the 2016 Alamo Bowl. In his capacity as a student-assistant coach, he helped with the defensive ends and defensive tackles. Â
He joined the coaching staff after injuries forced him to retire from playing for the Cowboys. He was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and played on three teams that played in bowl games. Oklahoma State won the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl and 2015 Catcus Bowl, and also played in the 2014 Cotton Bowl.Â
Irokansi  earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology at Oklahoma State in 2016.  Â
