Thomas Evans returns to Texas State for his first season as a defensive graduate assistant coach after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Tarleton State in 2017 and a defensive quality control coach at UC Davis in 2016.
He began his coaching career as a defensive line coach with the Bern Grizzlies Football Club in Bern, Switzerland in 2015 and the Modling Rangers Football Club in Vienna, Austria.

A native of Davis, California, Evans came to Texas State in 2012 after playing defensive end at American River Community College and helped his team win two conference championship and post a 21-1 record in two seasons.
He played for the Bobcats in 2012 and 2014 when Texas State played its first full season in the NCAA FBS ranks and won seven games in 2014. He missed 2013 with an injury.
