Stephen Hill is in his first season as the director of high school relations at Texas State after serving the past two years as the head coach at St. Pius X High School in Houston. Hill was named the Houston Touchdown Club’s Coach of the Year in 2016 after leading the Panthers to an 11-1 mark and a berth to the TAPPS state semifinals. He also led St. Pius X to a 10-2 mark last year.
 
Hill went to St. Piux X after serving as the offensive quality control coach at Rice, and helped guide the Owls to a Conference USA title and a trip to the 55th AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
 
Overall, Hill was 62-12 as a high school head coach.  He also led The Kinkaid School to back-to-back Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) Division I state championships in 2010 and 2011 and to a state runner-up finish in 2012. In 2011, Hill's team finished the season undefeated and ranked 37th in the state for all classifications 5A-6 man (highest ever for a private school). He was named the 2012 Touchdown Club of Houston Sportsmanship Award recipient and a finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston Coach of the Year. Additionally, Hill led Kinkaid to the 2012 private school 7-on-7 state championship and became the first private school coach to lead his team to the state title game at the 2011 UIL 7-on-7 tournament.
 
Prior to his appointment at Kinkaid, Hill directed the best offense in the Houston Independent School District for two years at Westbury High School after his teams averaged more than 35 points and over 485 yards per game. Hill also made coaching stops at Royal, Chavez and Memorial High Schools.
 
Hill earned his bachelor's degree in health at Eastern New Mexico University. He and his wife, Amanda, have three daughters: Kennedy, Campbell and Reese.
