Jordan Shoemaker

Jordan Shoemaker

  • Title
    Co-Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line
Jordan Shoemaker was named the Texas State offensive line coach and run game coordinator in December 2022.

Shoemaker and the Bobcats had an offensive line – established as “The Wall” – that helped Texas State rank as a top-15 offense in the country in 2023. Texas State averaged 457.6 yards of offense and scored 36.7 points per game – which was 15th and 12th in the nation, respectively – on its way to winning an FBS program-record eight games and reach and win the program’s first FBS bowl game.

The offensive line powered a rushing offense that finished second in the Sun Belt and 26th in the country with 186.7 yards per contest. Running back Ismail Mahdi, who finished 13th in the country in rushing yards and first in all-purpose yards, was named an All-American by five different organizations, including first team as an all-purpose player by CBS Sports/247Sports.

Right guard Brey Walker was named third team All-Sun Belt after he did not allow a sack on 410 pass plays throughout the season. Walker, who was in his first years as a Bobcat in 2023, only surrendered nine total pressures and was ranked as the fourth-best guard in the Sun Belt, according to PFF.

The Bobcat offensive line was completely filled by new starters in 2023 in Shoemaker’s first year. Four of the five starters, though, transferred to Texas State from UIW where they played for Shoemaker the year prior.

Shoemaker spent five years at UIW before making the move to Texas State. He mentored seven offensive linemen who combined for 12 All-Southland honors over the five seasons as well as helped the team reach the FCS Playoffs and win the Southland Conference three times.

With the Cardinals, Shoemaker helped develop Caleb Johnson and Nash Jones into FCS All-Americans. Johnson was an AP FCS second team All-American in 2022 while also earning all-conference honors twice in his UIW career. Jones, meanwhile, was a three-time all-conference selection and FCS All-American in 2022 and HERO Sports FCS Sophomore Al-American in 2021.

A former offensive lineman at Houston, Shoemaker worked at Baylor in addition to UIW at the collegiate level. He also coached one season at Magnolia West High School (2017).

A graduate of Midlothian High School in his hometown of Midlothian, Texas, Shoemaker earned all-district honors as a sophomore, junior and senior on both the offensive and defensive line. He was inducted into the Midlothian Athletics Hall of Honor Class of 2015.

Shoemaker and his wife, Samantha, have a daughter, Payton, and son, Logan.
