Jeremy Smith

Jeremy Smith is in his first year as an assistant director of football operations at Texas State after serving as a volunteer in football operations during the 2014 season.
 
Smith joined the football staff after earning a master’s degree in education at Texas State in 2013, and playing collegiate football at Houston during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
                                                                                                                      
While at Houston, Smith was a two-year letterman as a linebacker and member of the special teams while helping the Cougars set a NCAA record for the most returns in a season. He blocked a punt against Tulane that set up a touchdown in 2009. Smith played in all 14 games that season while helping Houston earn a berth to the Armed Forces Bowl. He also began his senior season in strong fashion as he registered three tackles and intercepting a pass in the season opener.
 
Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in sports administration at Houston in 2011. Born May 23, 1988, Smith is a native of Austin, where he attended Stephen F. Austin High School.
