Jeremy Cobb

A certified and licensed athletic trainer with working experience in both the NCAA Division I FBS and NFL, Jeremy Cobb is in his fifth season as the head football athletic trainer at Texas State.

Cobb came to Texas State after serving in a similar capacity at Nevada in 2018. He was named Nevada’s head football athletic trainer in August 2018 after serving the previous five months in an interim capacity for the Wolfpack. He also was the interim head football athletic trainer from Feb.-June 2017.

Before his promotion, Cobb was the assistant director of sports medicine at Nevada in August 2014. He was an assistant football trainer and primary trainer for the men’s and women’s golf team. He also oversaw the athletic training student volunteer program and the school’s Gatorade summer camps.

Cobb went to Nevada after serving as a graduate assistant at New Mexico, where he worked with the football team and assisted with the men’s and women’s track and field, and ski teams, along with the men’s golf squad.

He served as a summer intern with the Dallas Cowboys in 2013, assisted the Justin Boots sports medicine staff in 2017 and 2018, and the Professional Bull Riding sports medicine staff during competitions in 2015 and 2016.

Cobb earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training in 2014 and a master’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration at New Mexico in 2016. He is a certified athletic trainer by the NATA Board of Certification and licensed athletic trainer in Texas and Nevada.

Cobb and his wife, Laura, have a daughter, Leighton.
