Entering his 26th year at Texas State, Jason Karlik is in his eighth year as the Director of Sports Medicine for the Bobcats. He is responsible for sports medicine services for the Men's and Women's Golf teams.

Karlik assumed his current duties in the middle of the 2014 campaign after serving 12 years as an assistant athletic trainer and the team trainer for the men’s basketball team. He also oversaw the athletics training for Texas State’s baseball and softball teams. He began his career with the Bobcats as graduate assistant while earning a master’s degree of exercise and sports science at Texas State in 1998.

A native of Oregon City, Ore., Karlik earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon University in 1994. Upon graduation, he served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Centennial High School from 1995-96.
He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Jackson and Haley.
