Carter English

Carter English is in his first season as the recruiting assistant at Texas State after serving the last two seasons as a graduate assistant coach working with Texas State's tight ends. English joined Texas State's coaching staff as a volunteer coach in 2012.

English came to Texas State after serving as the running backs coach at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Under his tutelage, the 2011 Norsemen backfield combined for 1,400 total yards and he produced a Second-Team All-SWJCC running back.

Prior to joining the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M staff, English was an offensive assistant at Southern Miss and has previous experience with the Miami Dolphins and at Highland Park High School in Dallas, where he was a player on the 2005 state championship team.

English earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing at TCU in 2010. He also boxed on the USA Amateur tour while attending TCU. His brother, Russell, played football at Oklahoma from 2004-07 and his cousin, Stephen English, played at Florida in 2003-04.
